The 'Old Power' of Vimaya, rooted in ancient Khmer traditions and the 'Devaraja' concept.
The hereditary local leader whose family has held power for generations. He speaks the local Khmer dialect to his people but refined Siamese at court.
Character Notes
He occupies a heavy laterite mansion outside the city walls, near one of the largest Barays, the strategic communal pools behind the power of the Khmer Empire. By controlling the water source, he subtly reminds the Governor where the true power of the land lies. He uses the stone temple as a “legal shield” against the Governor’s bureaucratic demands.
