Khao Niao (khao-niao) ข้าวเหนียว

Glutinous or "sticky" rice; the staple of Northern and Northeastern Thai diets.

Khanom (kha-nom) ขนม

The general term for Thai sweets, snacks, or pastries.

Khanom Mo Kaeng (kha-nom-mo-gaeng) ขนมหม้อแกง

A traditional Thai baked custard made with mung beans, coconut milk, and palm sugar.

Khlui (khlui) ขลุ่ย

A traditional Thai vertical bamboo flute.

Khun (khun) ขุน

A title used for nobility or as a respectful term for a gentleman/lady.

Khum (khum) คุ้ม

High-ranking noble residence or palace, especially in Northern Thailand.

Krae (krae) แคร่

A versatile low platform made of bamboo or wood used as a bench, bed, or table.

Meed (mit) มีด

The Thai word for "knife."

Nam Phrik (nam-phrik) น้ำพริก

Sovan (su-wan) สุวรรณ

From the Sanskrit Suvarna; a term of endearment meaning "The Golden One."

Suai (suai) ส่วย

Suuea Yan (seua-yan) เสื้อยันต์

Tai Tun (tai-tun) ใต้ถุน

Yangna (yang-na) ยางนา
